Ivica Lovric: I did a job honestly and honestly. I can no longer watch Zagreb decay …

The Plavi Grad Party, whose candidate for Zagreb mayor Ivica Lovric presented a list for the City Assembly, which, among others, found numerous experts in various fields, economists, artists, professors, scientists, healthcare professionals …

We talked to Ivica Lovric, who would be his first moves if he won power, we asked him about the past with Milan Bandic, but also to his son’s problems with the Cios group.

1. Why did you decide to run for Zagreb mayor and what makes you different from other candidates?

The answer to that question is simple. Because I couldn’t watch our Zagreb collapse. With the support of the SDP, Tomasevic destroyed not only city institutions and projects but also the Zagreb spirit. Responsible people cannot look quietly, they have to offer strength, people and knowledge and change things. I am sure that I have knowledge, experience and strength, three components that I can take Zagreb where it is its place, to the society of developed European metropolis, where it is its place. Tomasevic cannot and does not know this and Zagreb is therefore for four years standing and decaying.

2. What are your first moves if you win – what can citizens specifically expect in the first 100 days?

I will change the whole paradigm of the existing-activist-activist agenda and manage the city as a manager with a team of competent people who have proven themselves in their careers. I will show, and for that I have concrete plans, that this is possible and the changes will be seen immediately. Tomasevic has forgotten about people, Zagreb and Zagreb residents. Except, of course, to his associations. In the first 100 days we will make a decision on free kindergartens for all children, free supplementary insurance for all retirees, we will launch a construction project of 5000 apartments for a affordable residence for young families through buying and renting under current market prices.

These are key measures if we do not want to become a demographic desert without our best people. The results will be seen very quickly, for 100 days of term when I will present everything to the citizens. I will immediately abolish all the harmful Tomašević decisions such as blocking, setting up unnecessary columns, pedestrian zones in Old Vlaska and adopting a waste management plan that has been waiting for Zagreb for years … We will have our hands full.

3. How do you plan to solve the problem of waste, poor infrastructure and slow city services?

By knowledge. And my program fully answers that question. Tomasevic, we can just don’t know the SDP even though they won the election on the topic. Instead of closed, Jakuševec is destroyed and companies within the Cios Group make three times more than in the last set. After June 2, everything changes. Blue bags become the past because they are ineffective and unlawful, no replacement Jakuševec on Resnik is out of the question, which is what Tomasevic wants. The CGO Resnik is nothing but the Potemkin’s village, which hides the intention of moving Jakuševec on which all capacities will be fulfilled in 2028. Moved to Resnik, a water protection area where many farmers have their plantations. The Blue City will not allow it.

Today, there are modern technologies that can produce gas from bio -waste, and from the waste of hydrogen without emissions of harmful particles into the air, we will apply this technology in Zagreb. Prior to that, in the shortest possible time, Zagreb will receive a sorting and compost in Novska, which are the projects for which Tomasevic welcomed the ready documentation, but did nothing. After that, a mixed municipal waste processing plant will be built, which will produce hydrogen, but at the location away from the Zagreb homes.

Also, we are changing the attitude towards wild landfills whose number in the city has almost doubled since we can! in power. Therefore, we will tighten the penalties for those who are improperly disposed of and repaired these areas as soon as possible. Waste removal, in places where necessary, will increase to twice a week, especially in multi -residential buildings. Of course, a prerequisite for all this is also satisfied workers to increase their salaries and get them new, modern equipment because now, literally, they work in drone.

With knowledge and experience, we will introduce order to all other components of the Holding. And there, just like in purity, the mess caused by we can be caused by the management clutter, and we will have to change it in a hurry.

4. The City of Zagreb also plays the issue of GUP and wild construction-will you have the strength to counteract interest groups?

My team is also a candidate for deputy mayor, Otto Baric, an architect whose name is high in the Croatian and European world of reflection of space. No lobbies or interest groups, as you call them, will prevent us from being a modern, architecturally clear, advanced European city and a role model for other metropolises. After all, I am the only candidate in this race behind which there are no interest lobbies, but exclusively Zagreb’s eager to change for the better.

5. Who are your key associates in the Blue City and how do you guarantee that there are no ‘old players’ in the party?

It is enough for this to look at our list and candidates for the mayor’s deputies. We have offered the oldest people from all areas of public life to the citizens of Zagreb who have implementable plans for knowledge and energy to implement and implement them immediately. There is no doubt, and it is easy to comparable to have the strongest list with names that have been in common that they have been realized, honorable people who have rich careers and professional knowledge, and have not actively been active in politics, but that is the power of the Blue City.

In addition to the aforementioned Otto Baric, my deputy Marina Lujic, a doctor of science, an EU project expert and a preschool education to whom I will give care for education, my coalition partner Milivoj Spik, president of the retirement block together who will make sure that the third -age policies will be best possible. Along with them, there are numerous economists on the list, artists, professors, scientists, healthcare professionals …

Demographer Nenad Pokos, for example, will help that there are never again less than 7,000 born in Zagreb a year, as was the case in 2023, Pulmologist Mihovil Vrcic says that the city healthy knows better than his apartment, which I believe him, academic painter Niksa Lalin will introduce order into cultural policy … Homeland War hero Ivan Rasic … The Blue City also boasts worldwide celebrated athletes such as Nenad Kljaic and musicians like Ibrica Jusic …

6. Your son hired you at your CIOS company after you left the city government-how do you comment on clientelism charges?

These are nonsense. I was briefly employed by my son who had no business to do with CIOS.

7. Your son appeared in the media on the allegations that Mr. Petar Pripuz ‘sat down’ on your son’s property because of debt, how do you comment on it? Will it be a stumbling block in your campaign?

My son is an adult, a 35-year-old and I cannot take any responsibility for his life, nor his business ups and downs. What I can say is that my wife dreams and I give all my love to our children and grandchildren. We do this everyday.

8. There are claims that the Blue City is actually an attempt to return the Bandic team to power – are you just a « new old player »?

There are incredible constructions that always market the same team around Tomasevic. Of course, I am not saying that your question is so business, it is a consequence of the settlement of the team that knows that I am their only serious threat to this election. The Blue City is a new, but already solid political party, the party of Zagreb and Zagreb residents who do not care about our city. I repeat, look at our list that the media, after her post, praises. Do you think that doctors of science, architects, musicians and craftsmen would be on that list, not to believe that changes are possible? Of course not. There is no return to the old, but from what is behind us, we must learn, and the good and the one who is not. And what does it really mean? For me, there are only two types of politicians, they are good and bad.

9. Have you ever personally favored a company or individual while you were the head of the City of Zagreb?

Not. I have done my job honorably and responsibly and I am proud of everything I have made with my team. And that’s not a little. At the time I was the head, there were no unregistered children to the city kindergartens. In my mandate, 45 new kindergartens were built with 7000 new places, and in parallel, I also developed a support system for private and religious kindergartens. During this period, 26 schools, 25 school sports halls were built, and 25 schools were upgraded. Out of six Zagreb Closed Pools, three were built in my term, as well as the Zagreb Music Academy and the Museum of Contemporary Art. After the Zagreb earthquake in the first six months, I completely renewed 162 facilities of schools and kindergartens, and at the 13 most damaged facilities prepared documentation and started works. As the funds of the solidarity fund have not yet been available, everything is financed by money from the City of Zagreb budget.

I also actively dealt with demographic measures. The results are that in September 2009, 6835 first graders were enrolled in Zagreb elementary schools, and 2021 of them 8277, or 88 more classes. One of the biggest career challenges was to run the Cibona Basketball Club. When I became her president in 2010, Cibona was at a fire, but I was able to repair the debt of about 15 million euros and renovate the youth drive from which most future Croatian national teams and NBA players have grown over the last fifteen years. Under my leadership, she won the Croatian Cup, two Croatian championships and the ABA league in the 2013/2014 season. What is Cibona’s biggest success today since 1987 and where is Cibona today?

10. Who finances your campaign and do you have the support of powerful business circles?

Our campaign is primarily funded by donations and membership fees, and we will be transparently listed in the financial statements.

11. Are you ready to publicly publish your property card and all your family business relationships?

Of course.
