In his speech at the ceremony held on the occasion of World Art Day, President Ersin Tatar stated that the accumulation of the Turkish Cypriot people in the field of culture and art is an integral part of social identity and that these values ​​make significant contributions to the country’s voice in the international arena.

Stating that art has a universal value, Tatar said, “When we look at the past, we have always given importance to culture, art and music as the Turkish Cypriot people and we are proud of it. Today we continue to exist in these lands with our own values”.

President Tatar, who gave examples from artists representing the Turkish Cypriot culture abroad, said that Turkish Cypriot art exists in many countries from Australia to Germany, from England to America and said that these activities contribute to social memory.

Tatar also touched on the work carried out by Şirin Zaimağaoğlu, Director of Culture Department, said, orum I congratulate Şirin Hanım for his successful works in four and a half years. I have always been with the art and the artist.
