“It’s worrying and serious”

Almost every fifth employee feels stressed, and more than half of them indicate that it is due to their working life.

Stress most often affects employees aged 25-34, and this is also where we see the biggest increase.

Women feel more often stressed than men, and stress affects more often younger than older people.

On the other hand, there is nothing to suggest that families with children over a broad comb are more stressed than employees without children.

Worrying and serious

« It is worrying and severe that so many people have stress close to life. Stress can affect us all and today is so intrusive that we can not only look at it as an individual problem. It is also a great deal of societal problem, » says Employment Minister Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen and continues:

« If we are to solve the rising stress, it requires that we as a society have a greater conversation about how we can organize our privacy and working life in a way that avoids we will be stressed. I want to contribute to that conversation and look forward to meeting in the coming time with a number of relevant parties and actors to discuss and find solutions to how we get less stress in our lives. »

The status of the labor market also shows that six out of ten, who work until the retirement age, choose to continue to work, and there is no big difference between being unskilled, skilled or has a higher education.

« More and more seniors are choosing to continue working, even though they have passed the retirement age, and they are a crucial workforce in a lot of jobs. I have no doubt that it is related to the fact that we have made it more economically attractive to continue. for a long time compared to younger age groups, ”says Employment Minister Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen.
