« It’s not no. » Hundreds of people protested against Parliament

Hundreds of people manifested themselves today in Lisbon, against Parliament, but also in Funchal, due to the case of the minor who was raped by three young people who were not detained.

With posters where you read, « What if you were your daughter? » Or « violation has no forgiveness, » the protesters have been listening to screaming « it’s not no. »

In the demonstration also marked leaders of various political parties. Mariana Mortágua, from the Left Bloc, told reporters that the Left Bloc “defends violation as a public crime” and that the party has made this proposal several times parliament. « The issues of violation are not only resolved with punitive laws, criminal laws » and that « machoists are being made internet prophets and contaminating an entire generation. »

Already Pan Inês Sousa Real assured that his party has worked to make the violation recognized as a public crime « but PS and PSD have rejected. »

It is recalled that this protest was organized by a spontaneous group of seven women, which came together about 140 associations and collectives. “To do justice in the case of violators influencers, and in all cases of sexual and moral abuse in Portugal,” read the call.

Manifestation arises following three young people who will have violated a minor and publicized the videos on social networks. The three suspects, between 17 and 19 years old, were arrested by the Judiciary Police, but were released by the Court, having been subject to periodic presentations and prohibition of contacts with the victim.
