« I sat in my room on the 27th floor of the hotel and was eating lunch in good mood when the earthquake began, » says Anna Magdalena Westfjords at mbl.is, an Icelandic woman who in her two -month Asian trip was in the Thai capital of Bangkok at the moment as a quake.

As mbl.is reported today, the quake hit the middle of Myanmar at 12:50 pm local time there, with its source at ten kilometers depth of sixteen kilometers northwest of the city of Sagaing.

« I naturally grabbed the phone and started recording and it was absolutely gorgeous, » says Anna, and her voices do not conceal that the mind follows.

« This earthquake was so far away, I know it now, and I’m so high that I knew it would be difficult to get down in a short time, » says the interviewer who didn’t get a seal when everything played an anger in her living room.

Some heights worse than others

She does not claim to have improved chess when the water from the swimming pool on the roof of the hotel flowed past her room window as the pool broke and launched its contents like a watery waterfall down with dozens of hotel.

When asked, Anna cracks have been in the walls of the hotel. « Some heights are worse than others, I just saw it on my way out. The window on the hill above me was shattered, I just heard it from the people who were there, » she continues.

Anna says the hotel has been evacuated, but as the day wore on, police authorities have been safe that guests returned to their rooms despite the damage to the building. She says the Thai army has come to the scene immediately and assigned hotel and homeless travelers drinking water.

Anna has spent two days in Bangkok, but a total of sixteen days in Thailand where she has friends. She claims to have heard from people in neighboring farms that have not been the quake.

« The reaction from the authorities here was very good, now it’s just a question of whether you allow to stay here, what I got into was of course nothing compared to what could have been, » says Anna Magdalena Westfjords, but she is on the flight to Taiwan on Sunday.
