It should crown prince Christian now

The Danish royal house has traditionally been closely linked to the defense, and several members of the royal family have served in the military over time.

After several months of intense service at the Gardehusar Regiment, the Crown Prince has just completed one of the most demanding exercises in the conscription program – the traditional Rex tour.

With his implementation, he has achieved the right to carry the coveted Rex mark-and can now call himself Gardehusar.

Big plans for the future

The Rex trip, which took place in mid-May, is known as one of the toughest challenges for the regiment’s conscripts.

The exercise extended over four days and consisted of two stages. First, participants had to establish emergency preparedness and guarding, followed by a number of complex tasks under physically and mentally demanding conditions.

The participants wore full equipment and marched about 50 kilometers. As a second in command of his division, the Crown Prince traveled a total of 65 kilometers – only on one field ration and with minimal sleep.

At the end of the trip, he received-like his co-considance-the symbolic rex mark, as evidence of efforts and willpower.

The Crown Prince ends his military service at the Gardehusar Regiment in late May.

After that, the next chapter awaits in his military journey – Lieutenant education. Education begins in August 2025 and lasts one year.

It is rounded off with a practical period in which the Crown Prince is to act as a division driver.
