It must be seen! An art laboratory works in Narva, showing what is hidden in a person
“This was not there yet,” says the project Laboratoria 8.0 Its participant, the famous Narva photographer Irina Kivimae. It is very difficult to say briefly about the project, that is, it will sound deceptively boring, banal: creating unusual images and fixing them as part of a creative photograph, photo stories. It is better to see what is called once.
It all started with two dash
Famogic creatures either from space, or it is not clear where, anthropomorphic fairy-tale heroes who have revived the characters of classic canvases, heroes born only thanks to the author’s imagination, which are difficult to place at least in some context. Already under a dozen photo stories.
So you will try to explain something in more detail, and again nothing turns out really-this must be seen what to say. So far, it is possible to see the results of this great creative work only on social networks, on the pages of the project participants, but they are going to go into real space with them, within the framework of a large exhibition, first of all.
The main engine, author of the Laboratoria 8.0 project – Daria Vasilkov, a professional artist working in the theater and in the cinema. Daria says that before this large Narva creative experience, she had projects that go beyond professional activity, that is, carried out at non -working hours.
“In parallel, the main work in St. Petersburg was a lot of interesting, unusual things. For example, it was when they asked to “make acne” to fall off the fans, or “grew up” the newlyweds for recording a video message, which seemed to be done 30 years after the wedding. In Narva, I do not have the opportunity for constant professional self -realization in a movie or theater, therefore, first of all for ourselves, our general pleasure, for a portfolio we do this all, ”says Vasilkov.
She says that it all started with her friendship with Narvityka Daria Larionova, who herself is fond of photography, but in Laboratoria 8.0, primarily as a model.
“Dasha just has an incredibly plastic appearance. I looked at her, realizing that she could be a wonderful model … I do not like this word. Heroine. Which is able to transform into a variety of images. So everything worked out. Dasha appeared in the first stories, and then – in the majority of the rest, ”says Vasilkov, who first shot herself.
“I am very interested when you grop out something in a person, and the heroine or the hero tried on this image and gets used to him, understanding something important for himself, to himself, experiencing a special experience of self-knowledge.
“Then Olesya Luyk appeared in our company, who began to take pictures, bringing his energy. Then, cooperation with Ira Kivimae began, with other photographers-Alesya Matrosova, Natalya Wilman-Kevish. In a large company, we, as they say, went out into nature, began to shoot stories in interesting locations, which are a great many in Narva and Ida-Viruma, ”recalls Daria, continuing to answer the creation of ideas of stories and images, their implementation.

– How do ideas arise?
– You can say from nowhere. For example, you accidentally find a thing somewhere in a second Hande that gives rise to the inventing of the image as a whole. Or the idea can go from the location. So it was with an alkaline quarry at the ashes, an amazing landscape and flowers where we shot the “bride”, or with the ruins in Viiviconn, where the most terrible story turned out. We create many stories in the framework of the stylistics of different directions of the art of Rococo, post -impressionism, expressionism, as part of greetings to specific artists. So, our shootings at the Ro-Ro club with Olesya Luyk and Misha Perechkin as heroes-this was the dedication of Tuluza Lotreku.
– There are already many stories, in different ways, but what is the general concept?
– This is a non -profit project, I will say just in case. We are interested in creativity, self -expression. In each person there is a huge number of entities, just that can be hidden and never manifested. I am very interested in when you grope something in a person, and the heroine or hero trips this image and gets used to him, understanding something important for himself, to himself, experiencing a special experience of self-knowledge. This is a miracle, of course, when, for example, Dasha for 10 minutes begins to feel the image so deeply that she has plastic, lives a story with maximum involvement. Participants in the project as heroes of people are primarily interested in the opportunity to be in a different skin, to see themselves in a new way. This is, for sure, also a psychological training, an experiment. Therefore, we called ourselves the « laboratory », this is not a photo studio, but more.
– On the ruins in Viiviconn, going in a football barefoot in the snow, you yourself went to the other side of the frame, became the heroine of the story. What was it for you personally?
– Taking yourself weak is what many often do, that is, for me it was a challenge. I wanted to feel myself in another space, to feel in principle differently. It was an access to the space of expressionism, and I was interested in how I would manifest myself in it, whether I could overcome some clamps. I was kaifovo right, the adrenaline went off scale, of course, I didn’t feel the cold.
– What ideas will be realized by the following?
– Now we are doing stories on fairy tales about the dog Lotta, according to the book “Ott”, about the revived swamp bumps. They, as well as ready -made “Naxitlles”, will show the public as part of the Book Day in Rugodiv on June 3. We also want to show something from the artist in Narve.
– Of course, many are interested in how to get into your project as a model, possibly with an existing image of an image. Perhaps this?
– In principle, perhaps. Write letters, get in touch through Instagram, in which we can be found on Laboratoria 8.0.
Irina Kivimae: there will be a big exhibition
The heroine of the majority of the stories of the laboratory Daria Larionova says that for her it is all creativity in its purest form. “I am fascinated by the whole process of creating images, reincarnation. I feel it like a miracle, the magic that happens to me. Thanks to photographers, I see my heroines later from the side, and this is the most interesting. Photographers work with us just beautiful, ”says Larionova.
– You yourself are fond of photography, participated in the set of individual stories. Is it completely different?
– Of course, here I just take off for myself, first of all, not very worried about the results, but this is very interesting.
Irina Kivimae, who created participating in the project, says that all this is very unusual for Narva, very exciting.
“All photographers, of course, work on creating images, come up with something on their own, at an amateur level, of course, but here is a real professional-Dasha Vasilkova, our locomotive. The fact that some stories are ohmmage works of art, painting styles are separately exciting, ”says Irina Kivimae.
She reports that, probably, in the fall, Narva is waiting for a large exhibition, which will show the made in Laboratoria 8.0, not all, of course.
“It will include 30-40 works,” Kivimae reports, hoping that the organization of the exhibition will receive stock support.
