It meets in the meeting. What Special Commission sets up Parliament
Deputies and senators meet on Tuesday, starting at 12:00, in a common plenary session.
One of the projects that are on the agenda of the common plenary on Tuesday is the decision regarding the establishment of the special Commission of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate to combat human trafficking.
The permanent gathering offices of the Parliament decided, on Monday, to establish the special Commission of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate to combat human trafficking. For the establishment of this commission, the vote of the common plenary is also required, and in the meeting on Tuesday will be approved its nominal composition.
The establishment of the Special Commission was proposed by the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Ciprian Șerban.
Among the objectives of the commission are: analysis of structural and conjunctural causes and factors that favor the manifestation of human trafficking, including work exploitation, sexual exploitation, trafficking in minors and other forms of abuse, analyzing the activity of institutions and public administration authorities at central and local level in preventing, identifying, investigating and solving human trafficking, including human trafficking. Evaluation of the efficiency of the implemented measures, the elaboration of some legislative proposals in order to modify the legislation in the field.
Another objective is to identify, evaluate, promote the best practices, tools and strategies in preventing and combating trafficking in persons, including work and other forms of abuse, as well as protection, support and reintegrate the victims of these practices.
The commission will consist of 25 members, designated by the parliamentary groups in the Chamber of Deputies and Senate, according to the political configuration of the Parliament.
In order for the commission meetings to take place, the presence of at least half plus one of the number of members composing it is necessary. The decisions are adopted with the vote of the majority of the members present, and the vote is open.
'The institutions and authorities of the public administration whose activity is related to the mentioned objectives, but also with other aspects related to these objectives are obliged, under the conditions of the law, to respond to the commission's requests, within the term established by it. The Commission may invite to participate in debates representatives of public institutions/authorities, professional associations, specialists recognized in the field of trafficking in persons, as well as representatives of non -governmental organizations and accredited international organizations, with experience in preventing and combating trafficking in persons. The Commission will collaborate closely with the Labor, Family and Social Protection Commission, as well as with other relevant parliamentary committees, to address the aspects related to work exploitation and other forms of trafficking of persons', it is shown in the draft Decision on the establishment of the Special Commission.
The Commission will operate until the conclusion of the legislature 2024 – 2028, and semester will present the permanent offices gathered, at the beginning of each session, a report on the activity.
