It lasts a long heat wave, there will be more this summer. But first comes with thunderstorms and rain
As we approach the middle of June, meteorological experts say, a more stable pattern appears, leading to the first significant and potentially long -lasting heat wave in Western and Central Europe this summer. The last days of May have already marked extremely high temperatures across southern Spain, which reached almost 42 degrees Celsius.
The heat will first be reinforced in southwestern Europe by Sunday, gradually expanding to Western Europe until the middle of the week, and then, next weekend, continue under the heat dome that develops over northern and Central Europe. It is a phenomenon that occurs due to extreme temperatures. We will have more extremes like this throughout the summer.

According to the announcements of meteorologists of the State Hydrometeorological Institute, Monday, June 16, 2025, brings partly sunny but also unstable time in Croatia. It will be more cloudy in the western regions of Croatia, especially along the border with Slovenia, where showers and thunderstorms are expected during the morning. The instability will expand to other parts of the interior in the afternoon, and the storm is possible locally and stronger. Most sunny periods will stay on the Dalmatian coast, where warm and mainly dry weather will prevail, especially during the morning.

Winds will change direction and intensity during the day. There will be a moderate north and northeast wind in the interior. A storm is expected in the northern Adriatic, which will be strong at the foot of Velebit, occasionally with storms. In Dalmatia, the day will start with weak to moderate southwest and northwest, while the storm will only blow there in the evening.
Air temperatures will remain in summer values. The lowest morning temperature will be between 14 and 19 ° C in the interior, while along the Adriatic it will be noticeably warmer – from 20 to 24 ° C. The highest daily temperature will range from 26 to 31 ° C, and in Dalmatia it can also reach a hot 34 ° C.

Tuesday, June 17th, it remains under the sign of instability, especially along the coast and on the islands, where more pronounced showers with thunderstorms are expected. Unstable weather can be followed by storm.
From Wednesday (June 18), time will gradually calm down. There will be more sunny periods, but there is still a possibility of afternoon showers in the interior of Dalmatia. The wind will be moderate northern and northeast, and at sea storms – at the foot of the Velebit strong with possible storms.
On Wednesday, the wind will weaken, and along the coast, it will turn to a weak to moderate northwest and southwest. Air temperatures will be on the rise, which means a continuation of warm and real summer weather.
