It is warmer in Flanders than in Barcelona or Athens, and there is more good news: « The Easter holiday will certainly not fall into the water »

While showers are expected in the coming days in Athens, Malaga and Lisbon, among others, the RMI still predicts zero percent of rain in our country until Tuesday. And with temperatures of 19 to 21 degrees on Thursday and Friday, it also promises to get warmer in Uccle than in Nice of Bari.

In few places on the European mainland it will be more pleasant in the next two days than in Belgium. « That in itself is not that unusual, » says Weerman Frank Deboosere. « In the spring and certainly in April the weather sometimes makes strange goat jumps. Just see it as the result of a big weather war between winter, who wants to hand out last injection, and the sun that comes every day but higher in the sky. Just remember that it is sometimes snowing on Easter Day, while Easter is of course not two years of the same day. »

We are dealing with a high -pressure area above Scandinavia, which makes dry land air blow our direction, Deboosere knows. « The rain zones go around us in a large arch, either through the far north, or through the south. Anyone who goes on holiday to the Mediterranean Sea will better take a raincoat with you. You will be able to use it there better than here. »

Easter holidays

According to Deboosere, the tight east wind that stands there will weaken in the coming days, although the direction remains almost unchanged. And although it is still early for a weather bulletin over the entire Easter holidays, Deboosere is committed to having hardly any rain in the coming two weeks. « No, the Easter holidays will certainly not fall into the water. There is a real chance that there will be less than 10 liters of water per square meter in the next ten to fourteen days, » he says. « It is not for nothing that code orange for natural fires have already been announced in Limburg and Antwerp. »

After Friday it will cool a bit, Deboosere warns. For Saturday, the RMI predicts 16 degrees, on Sunday it cools further to 11 degrees. « The riders in the Tour of Flanders will be dealing with a north wind, but it will be a dry edition, » says De Weerman. Temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees are also expected next week.
