It is time for Easter to start protecting from UV radiation

Ultraviolet radiation intensifies to moderate, causing the skin to burn faster in the sun.

Ultraviolet radiation intensifies in mid -April, revealed Forecan from the blog. According to Foreca, the index, which describes the intensity of UV radiation, will soon reach value three, meaning it is advisable to start protecting from the sun with covering and sunscreen.

When the UV index is moderate, or 3-5, the combustion of light skin without protection begins after half an hour, says Foreca. In southern and central Finland, radiation in sunny weather continues from mid-April to September.

In mid-summer, radiation is sometimes strong in southern Finland, with a UV index of 6-7. During strong radiation, noon sun should be avoided. Also in northern Finland, the UV index may be over four days.

Foreca recalls that excessive UV radiation is dangerous to humans and can cause health problems over time. The temperature of the air does not affect the intensity of ultraviolet radiation, meaning that the skin can burn in cool and sunny weather.

UV radiation can be reached through the clouds, meaning that the skin can also burn on a cloudy day. However, the intensity of the radiation depends on the thickness of the clouds.
