Van den Brande himself started as a position builder when he was 18 years old and took over Kontrimo at the age of 37. That was in 1998, the company had 12 employees. « Over the years, Kontrimo has grown into a company with 120 employees and a turnover of 13 million euros, » the CEO said earlier. « The story that we have written there is incredible. It’s my child, hey. But one day you also have to let go. I am incredibly proud of what we have all mashed together. »

His participation in ‘The Sky Is The Limit’ brought the Van den Brande great fame, but since then it has never been quiet around him. Among other things, the entrepreneur from Temse got the newspaper when he became involved in a fight on the breakdown lane, later he put an employee with a photo of a tilted truck. One of his posts even ended up in court. The one in which he expressed threats to an ex-employee who had scammed him for hundreds of thousands of euros.

In the announcement of the sale of his company, he announced that he would hope for a little more calm: « It’s time for more rest. »
