It is necessary to refound Europe from the nations
A short interview of a sir Rodrigo Prata to André Ventura at SIC about the ‘blackout’ Monday ashamed the journalist that I once went. Not for bias or bad faith, already usual in the interviews with the arrival leader. But for the deep rudeness with which he behaved with the interviewee. It is unacceptable and what happened. And if I waste some time here with this episode, it is because it is symptomatic of a whole culture of aggressiveness and bad education that television interviewers today cultivate and which is deleterious for an environment that would want to be healthy in the political debate.
As for the ‘blackout’, it was important in an appearance: he warned us all, lived in a vivid way, what we can represent the loss we had of our energetic sovereignty. We have seen, with our own eyes, a paralyzed country. We returned, in a minute and for a few hours to the world of the eighteenth century, without energy, without running water, incommunicable beyond the neighbor on the side. It is good to imagine what a enemy country would be to cut us to energy beyond borders an hour before an attack: it would be a walk in the park.
And do not come to talk to me in the liberal international order: the most attentive already realized that it was a mirage today undone. The empires, the hard power, bilateral relations, eternal friendly dichotomy are returned. Better said, they are not returning because they never ceased to exist. In fact, under the diaphanous cloak of multilateralism has always moved the interests of very few. Everything else was illusion created to dilute resistance and reluctance. The pure and hard reality, without ambiguities, is well preferable to this reality of the empires that say to what come. And so they gain the relief that they should never have lost physical and cultural boundaries, the survival instinct, and the acute meaning of the real world.
Globalization is a reality, globalism an ideology; Globalization implies different people, being part of different nations, aware of their differences, in a permanent contact in which these differences are enriching and generating a civilization in permanent evolution. Globalism is but an undifferentiated crowd, made up of all equal people, without families, without nations, without goods, without dignity and without freedom, submissive slaves of a caste of oligarchs without borders.
A politically united federal Europe is just a mere piece of a very primary globalist puzzle. But a Europe of the nations, united around its culture, its traditions and its Greco-Latin and Judeo-Christian roots can have a relief place in the new geopolitical panorama. This European Europe, to continue its route, will soon disappear, as an autonomous entity, in this new world that is designed. Things are what they are, reality is an unshakable wall.
As for us, we will surely have a place in this nations Europe since we refunded in our roots, in our culture, in our history, and within our borders we know how to rebuild the possible power, a real power and not, as today, mutilated, fragmented, sold. This will be our contribution to the refounding of Europe and to meet, within this Europe but not diluted in it, after four long and painful centuries, our place in the world.
