The Gazer, title originally, it is observerand in this case the observer. First long long manufactured wrist, with minimal budget, 16 mm urban and indie grain, it is co -written by director Ryan J. Sloan and actress Ariella Mastroianni who camps the said observer, night sparrow. Soldering the urban and deserted areas of an old -fashioned New Jersey with its telephone cabins and the anachronistic walkman, the film wants to be a meditation around a subjective look (from the gauzetherefore) and assumes a theoretical side: a young mother whose companion committed suicide, left to herself, to the galley without his daughter, one night is witness to a crime. Behind the window of a building which she scrutinizes, while she is slow to serve the customer of the gas station where she is a pump attendant, an unknown woman is murdered.
But the puny hooded brunette has a neurodegenerative disease, dyschronometry, which distorts its relationship to the present time, and plunges it into phases of « Zoning out », From absence Hagardous to consciousness, which she wants to protect herself by recording her voice on radiocassettes that she happens in a loop, to stay concentrated, all that she sees, what she does. Now doubting her own perception, she slides in a story to sleep standing, a tormented investigation into a crime of which she becomes the first suspect.
