– When it comes to children’s behavior, what major changes have you noticed in recent years, especially after pandemic? Is it possible to distinguish before and after?

– Can be distinguished. Although I have not done such research in person, there are many in the world. As far as Lithuania is concerned, we have previously noticed that social skills are a very neglected area. The social skills of our young children are, in fact, poor, poor. It is very important for children to learn how to be with other children independently before school, good, friendly. This is a very deserted area. As well as self -regulation. Of course, children who survived pandemia at the age of 1-3 have a huge pit needed to help.

– There was nowhere to improve those social skills.

– Yes. Very often we can notice parents – in a public place, in a cafe, a playground – encouraging children to play. However, the child is not extended and does not know how to do it. Our example is very important. In fact, a little child rarely sees parents in his or her home when communicating. They usually communicate on the phone. Again, this is a huge loss. Children need to see and be involved, involved. It must be educated not only in kindergarten but also at home.

– Yes. Children learn from everything they see around. Often, it is as if social skills become a matter of course. By raising children, we want academic results and we are proud of it. According to scientists, it is much more important how the child is able to behave in socium.

You need to understand and focus on it. The whole life of the child will depend on this: how he or she will be able to be with people, to communicate, how to accept and be able to accept others. The child needs to learn how to orientate in an unknown world among living beings. He has to do it himself – to orientate and to choose those models. This is the foundation.

– Technology is inevitably in our lives. Children start using them early – is it an opportunity or danger? How can this change them?

– My opinion is strict – up to five years of age should not be technology. Of course, you should not be a game tool, but as a communication – yes.
