Israel’s message: No humanitarian assistance to Gaza
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz says on Wednesday that no aid organizations’ humanitarian aid will be allowed to the disastrously war -affected population in Gaza. He describes the strangulation of auxiliary broadcasts as « one of the most important tools » to push the arch enemy Hamas.
Due to how he formulated Sig earlier – that « civilian companies » would be allowed to resume broadcasts in the hope that Hamas will not access it – several politicians had even further out on the right. Including extremist Itamar Ben Gvir, Minister for National Security, who tweeted that « there are no reasons why a single gram of food or help should enter Gaza » as long as any hostage remains in the area.
– It’s a pity that there are those who try to mislead, comments Katz’s reactions, according to Times of Israeland continues clarification: In the present reality, no one will bring in any humanitarian assistance to Gaza, and no one prepares to bring in such a thing.
His point in mentioning « civilian companies, » he says, was that in a future, Israel must establish a kind of infrastructure that makes it impossible for the terrorist group Hamas to be able to take part in assistance.
The criticism of Katz is coming Even from the family organization The Hostages and Missing Familie’s Forum, which believes the government prioritizes territory over the hostage.
« They promised that » the gates of hell « would be opened, but prepare in silence to reintroduce humanitarian aid, » the group writes in a statement according to Haaretz. « There is an obvious, practical solution, and that is to release all hostages in one step with an agreement, even at the price of the war ending. »
Israel’s blockade against letting in aid into the Gaza Strip has been going on for six weeks. Doctors Without Borders (MSF) describes it as the whole of Gaza being transformed into a large mass grave for the two million inhabitants.
