Israeli planes carry out new attack on Iran
Israeli aircraft have carried out a new air strike on a military airport near the northwestern Iranian city of Tabriz today at around 12:30 pm local time, local and security sources said.
It is believed that the purpose of the attack was the Air Force Base Shahid Fakuri, used to accommodate fighter jets, Iranian news agency reported.
The attack came hours after Israeli forces carried out air strikes on Tehran and other cities across Iran, striking residential areas and military facilities.
According to Iranian sources, the killed in the morning attacks are senior military and security officials, including Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Mohammed Hossein Bakeria, the commander of the Revolutionary Guard, Hossein Salami and Iran’s commander.
Sources say at least six nuclear scientists have been killed.
The leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, condemned the attack and warned Israel of « severe consequences ». Israel has not commented on Tabriz’s latest attack so far, nor has officially confirmed responsibility for the morning attack.
