Israeli companies may well be present at the Bourget aeronautical show – Liberation

In a decision rendered this Tuesday, the Bobigny judicial court rejected the requests of three associations aimed at prohibiting the presence of nine Israeli companies at the Bourget aeronautical fair (Seine-Saint-Denis). According to our information, the judge considered that by authorizing the companies concerned to exhibit, the organizer of the show, the group of French aeronautical and space industries (GIFAS), has not violated any authorization.

In response to associations which believe that during this trade fair of commercial relations can be established and then allow « A worsening of damage currently suffered by the Palestinian people »the court considers that these commercial relations are not « What an evidence ». The decision clearly indicates that it is not in the court to bring a political or geopolitical assessment on the situation in the Middle East but indeed in the States. One way to remember that GIFAS is only the organizer of an event and not an authority.

The case had started at the end of May with a summons launched by three associations – Attac France, Al Haq and Stop Fuelling War – for the purpose « To prevent Israel from selling weapons ». A summary hearing (emergency procedure) was held on June 4 at the Bobigny court. The lawyer of one of the associations, Dominique Cochain, had pleaded the risk of « Imminent damage (…) If these arms sales are not ended ». In reply
