Israel threatens to « burn » Tehran
Jordan, Syria and Lebanon announced on Saturday the reopening of their air spaces, after closing them on Friday due to the Israeli attack on Iran, followed by the latter’s response, AFP reports.
Jordan, which on Friday announced that it had intercepted drones and rockets above its territory, reopened its air space from 7.30 (4.30gmt), said the Jordanian civil aviation.
Lebanon and Syria made similar ads.
The Lebanese airline Middle East Airlines has rescheduled their flights to and from Beirut, several passengers having to spend night at the airport due to the cancellation or delay of the races.
Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, the main International Israel airport, will remain closed to new orders, a spokeswoman for the airport, following the rocket shootings launched by Iran during the Night in response to the Israeli attack on the Eve.
At the same time, the Iranian State Press Agency Irna reported that the military section of Mehrabad airport was targeted during the night by Israeli raids, a hangar used for fighter jets being damaged. Air traffic at the airport remains suspended, the DPA recorded.
Mehrabad, near Tehran, mainly serves internal routes and hosts the government’s air fleet. Tehran International Airport is located about 40 kilometers south of the capital.
The Israeli Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, warned on Saturday that Tehran will burn ‘if Iran launches Rockets on Israel.
« The Iranian dictator is about to turn his citizens into hostages and create a reality in which the residents of Tehran in particular will pay a difficult tribute because of the criminal damage caused to Israeli civilians, » Katz said. ‘If (the Supreme Iranian Guide, Ayatollah Ali) Khamena continues to launch rockets on the Israeli internal front, Tehran will burn,’ he added
