Israel released the disputed aid mechanism in Gaza before mastering 75% of it

The Israeli army is preparing to control 75% of the Gaza Strip for two months and push the Palestinians into three zones of the small enclave, the Israeli army announced. The plan was announced hours before the expected start of supplies to Palestinians from the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), the resignation of whose leader just before the process began again raised questions about her work.

On Monday, when thousands (many of them are far -right) is expected to join the day of Jerusalem (the anniversary of the mastery of the Eastern Jerusalem in the Six Day War) and to joke through the Muslim part of the city, with an increased police presence, a row of 5 (Hamas) for 70 days; 21 of the 58 remaining in gas are considered alive at the moment.

Resignation just before the start

Jake Wood, a former Marine, who is the CEO of GHF, announced on Sunday night that he resigned and complained that he could not be independent or adhere to the « humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence. » The organization’s board expressed its « disappointment », but indicated that the trucks were ready to go to Gaza.

According to the requirements of the Israeli defense forces, each family must receive food for five days and return every five to renew the stocks. The US company will serve the process; Israeli forces will remain tens of meters of Naza to ensure safety.

The army’s plan

Currently, according to army estimates, about a million people will be clustered in Gaza, 300-350 thousand – in central gas, and 700 thousand are in Al Mauasi. With the start of the operation, the population of enclave, over 2 million people, will be pressed into an area equal to about 25% of the strip. The focus is on mastering land and seizure of Hamas infrastructure, not eliminating fighters (atypical for the first year of the war). The goal was to bring Hamas into a condition of collapse and internal management crisis and thus return to the negotiating table.

It is yet to be seen how the plan of the army relates to the assurances of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel will seize an entire gas, or of the far -right finance minister Betzalel Smotrich – that the population will be concentrated mainly in the south.

Meanwhile, after new publications in the media and non -governmental organizations, Israel has assured that he is investigating allegations that civilians are being used by the army as live shields. Many cases that have similar information are considered.
