The G7 summit, held in Canada from June 15th to 17th, is clear that it will be dominated by the war-just not what the world leaders had waited until a few days ago.
At the top of the agenda of the important meeting was the Ukraine-Russian conflict as well as the war of Donald Trump’s tariffs against America’s trade partners.
Now, inevitably, in the forefront of the three -day summit in Alberta, the Middle East clash, which has the potential to shake the whole world. Israel’s decision to attack Iran will force the group of seven Western powers to spend less time on other issues and instead discuss how conflict management, says the BBC.
Like many of their discussions, this will include Britain, France, Germany and Italy-along with Canada and Japan-demanding the influence of the US, because despite the fact that Israel launched these attacks without Washington’s clear support, US President Donald Trump is the only real influential leader of the Prime Minister of Jewish state.
G7 leaders, who are expected to arrive in Canada today, recognize global security risks and the economy if this conflict escalates, including other countries, which will also have a sudden increase in oil prices. However, they may have difficulty achieving a common attitude.
Some, like the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, and French President Emmanuel Macron, have called for content and reduction in tensions. But others, like Japan’s Prime Minister, Shigeru Ishiba, have condemned Israel’s attack as « intolerable » and « extremely unfortunate ». For his part, Trump praised Israel’s attacks as « excellent ».
