Israel invited numerous reserves due to the extension of the offensive in Gaza

In retaliation, Israel vowed to destroy Hamas, who took power in Gaza in 2007, and launched a large air campaign and a land offensive in which at least 52,495 people were killed in Palestinian territory, mostly civilians, according to the Hamas Ministry of Health, which the UN considers reliable.
