“There was one of the worst crimes against a defenseless infant. Certainly it was not a direct effort to kill him, but the indifference to the subsequent state of the child is important. The convicted person downplayed his actions, but he had to know that death could occur, ”said prosecutor Lukáš Hrubý.

The convicted person then sent his partner to the video of the little son strongly crying and showing symptoms of the so -called Shaken baby syndrome.

He wrote her news as he was gone and coughs his son, « when he dies at home » and that he doesn't care. That she should take care of him, then he was concealed to her. He called to the hospital, but he did not admit what he did, and the child could not get the appropriate care. The infant came to doctors only a day later.

“He only used calls to the hospital as his alibi. The convict did nothing to save his son. A natural reaction of almost every and less intelligent person in a crisis situation is to call help and solve possible consequences. None of this happened, ”said the verdict of Trávníček.

The child suffered permanent brain damage. It is blind, has developed post -traumatic epilepsy and has stopped its development. “The consequences are fatal. Although the victim lives and perceives, he has stopped on the development of a four -month -old child who is unable to swallow and breathe. It must be fed with a probe and is blind, ”the judge described.

“The convicted person imprisoned him in this body. In addition, there is constantly risk of death due to possible infection. We judge a murder attempt here, but let's wonder if it is even worse than if death happened right away. Although it is a heresy idea, ”added Trávníček.

According to him, the defendant did not deserve any lower sentence. « As a parent, I have a dumpling in your throat, » he said. The man appealed against the judgment.
