Is the armed conflict await Poland? Here’s what the respondents think. Survey results
The survey, which took place on April 22, 2025, shows an increase in anxiety by 7.2 percentage points compared to the previous year. Among the respondents, 29.8 percent definitely agree with this statement, and 33.5 percent rather agree.
Poles are afraid of attacking the country. This is how citizens would react
The IBRIS survey reveals that 36.7 percent of Poles are considering escaping in the event of an attack on the country. From this group, 21.3 percent declared that they would go abroad, which means an increase of 3.2 percentage points compared to 2023. Another 15.4 percent would go with loved ones to a safe place in Poland. Most, because 42.5 percent, would decide to secure in the place of residence, which is a decrease by a 14.8 percentage point compared to the previous year.
21.8 percent of respondents declared their readiness to participate in military, paramilitary or sanitary formations, which is a decrease compared to 30.1 percent a year earlier. 5.1 percent of respondents would have been waiting for the appointment, which means a 3.9 percentage point. Security of assets would choose 32.2 percent of respondents, and the number of people who would not take any action increased to 7.3 percent.
Social trust and neighborhood solidarity
Social trust in Poland remains at a low level, although a slight increase has been recorded. 77.3 percent of respondents believe that you should be careful in dealing with others, which is a decrease by 6.5 percentage points compared to 2023. In turn, 21.4 percent of Poles believe that most people can be trusted, which means an increase of 5.7 percentage points. 1.3 percent of respondents expressed the lack of a sentence.
73.3 percent of respondents declared their readiness to defend the neighbor against aggression, even in the case of bad relationships. Compared to last year, it is a drop of 5.6 percentage. 14.8 percent of respondents expressed the opposite opinion, and 11.9 percent indicated the lack of a sentence.
Individuality and reactions to threats
As Ibris assesses, society is increasingly focusing on individual survival strategies. A sense of danger is growing, but the tendency to community reactions, such as he will stay with loved ones, participate in the fight or helping a neighbor is decreasing. Kamil Smogorzewski, IBRIS communication director, emphasizes that the decreasing level of neighborly solidarity and low level of social trust may weaken the potential of society in crisis situations.
