Is that incitement? – Diepresse.com
In the run-up to the academic ball, the Jewish Austrian university students projected the saying « Countdown to the Nazi ball » onto the outer castle gate for days. According to an advertisement, there is therefore suspected incitement. The university students are outraged.
After an action in the run -up to the Freedom Academic Ball, the state protection against the Jewish Austrian university students (Jöh) is investigating. Activists had projected a “countdown to the Nazi ball” onto the outer castle gate for several days. On the APA request, the State Office for State Protection and Extremism Consuming (LSE) Vienna confirmed an advertisement and investigation on suspicion of the incitement. The Jöh protested the procedure.
The Jöh not only criticized that investigations were initiated at all. Above all, they suspect that the authorities have intervened on the “call” of the organizer of the academic ball, FPÖ politician Udo Guggenbichler. « The democratic assembly and freedom of expression was apparently in favor of in favor and, with the participation of right-wing extremists, injured and thus tried to silence critical voices, » it said in a broadcast.
Furthermore, according to the police act, the complaint (due to the suspicion of the incitement, note) by Udo Guggenbichler was brought in. State Office of State Protection and Extremism Control (LSE) – the Protection of the Constitution of the Republic of Austria – fulfill this fact, although the law actually exists to protect minorities and by no means participation in the protection of fraternities or their “balls”.
Police do not comment on details
Alon Ishay, President of the Jewish Austrian university students, was stunned: “Jewish students are persecuted by the police because they criticize the ball of those fraternities that have particularly emphasized through their anti -Semitism – apparently with the participation of the ball organizer. To justify this grotesque police operation, a law was actually used to protect us minorities.”
Ishay’s point of criticism: « In complete ignorance of the Austrian legal situation, a » suspicion of resolution « against Jewish students was claimed. This law is actually intended to protect us as Jews from the participants of the WKR ball and their individual cases. »
The police did not comment on details. With the conclusion of the investigation, the results of the Vienna public prosecutor’s office would be noted. The Vienna public prosecutor’s office subsequently decided on the procedure. (APA/Red.)
