Is Pope Lion or Leon? Here’s what they say from the Croatian Language Institute
After the election of a new chief of the Catholic Church, the social network overwhelmed the discussion: Is it to write the Pope correctly Lion XIV. or Leon XIV. Although both forms circulate on the internet, the linguistic and historically correct name in the Croatian language is the Lav XIV, the linguists are confirmed.

The Croatian Language Institute also came up and resolved the dilemma.
– 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗮 𝗟𝗮𝘃 𝗫𝗜𝗩. Today, the Catholic Church has received a new pope. For the first time in history, the Pope is an American, and the prefect of dicasterly for Bishop Robert Francis Prevaost. The character of the lion in Croatian texts has been confirmed since the 16th century, still in the works of Sime Budinic and Juraj Barakovic, so for traditional reasons we give the advantage of that Lika compared to the character of Leon.
