« They were threatened with evil, » Hameni commented on the latest threat of Trump in his address to Muslim St. Lent’s Month Ramadan’s closing festival « Eid al-Fitr ».
« If this is done, they will definitely encounter a strong counterattack, » warned Iran’s top leader.
In an interview on Saturday, Trump said Iran would be bombarded if it was not agreed on its nuclear program.
« If they do not agree, there will be a bombing, » Trump told NBC.
It is not yet clear whether the threat of Trump is just a bombing of the United States or that an attack would be coordinated with Israel.
On March 7, Trump announced that he had sent a letter to Iran, calling for a suspension of nuclear development negotiations, warning that otherwise it would have to take into account a military reaction. Iran replied that in direct talks with the US would not be involved, but indirect talks were possible.
Trump announced in January, returning to the White House that he was restoring « maximum pressure » policy to discourage Iran from trying to get nuclear weapons.
Iran resumed its nuclear program in 2019 after the US has unilaterally withdrew from Tehran and the world’s superpower in 2015 and restored its economic sanctions over the first Presidency of the Trump.
