Iran deployed radar systems against the US attack! – Cyprus Newspaper
Regional tension in the Middle East has been increasing for a long time…
According to open -source analysts, Iran strengthens its military defense capabilities by expanding the Ghadir Radar network, designed to detect long -range planes, missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to Newsweek, Iran is expanding the air defense against possible attacks from the United States and Israel by placing these new radars in key regions such as Northwest and Basra Gulf coast near Tabriz.
Efforts to modernize the military infrastructure
The expansion of the Ghadir radar system underlines its efforts to modernize Iran’s military infrastructure in the Middle East.
These advanced radars, which have the ability to monitor various air threats, represent a critical component of Iran’s extensive defense strategy when the security environment of the region is increasingly unstable.
What is Ghair Radar?
Ghadir Radar, a high frequency system, can detect threats beyond the view line.
This means that they can follow the aircraft, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles at 680 miles and 370 miles for aircraft.
The ability of radar to fly low and identifying hidden goals makes it a challenging part of Iran’s defense infrastructure. In addition, since the system is resistant to electronic war, it can remain operational even in contentious environments.
Ghadir Radari, which was first introduced in 2011, is the cornerstone of Iran’s air defense network, including Russia’s S-300 systems and domestic production missiles.
These radars are strategically positioned along the important maritime regions, including Iran’s borders and vital Basra Gulf shipping lines.
Their position allows Iran to monitor and respond to both air and sea threats.
Israel attacks
Last year, Israel organized air strikes deep into Iran and targeted important military facilities.
Satellite images later showed that Israeli attacks were damaged by Iran’s military infrastructure. Since then, the tension between the two competitors remained high and both sides strengthened their defenses.
While tensions with the US and Israel are increasing, the expansion of Iran’s radar network can help shape regional security dynamics.
