IPH came out with high temperatures protection recommendations
Avoiding sunscreen from 11 am to 5 pm, wearing light, wide clothing in bright colors, wide -brimming cap and sunglasses, as well as staying in air conditioned rooms when possible – are just some of the recommendations of the Institute of Public Health (IPH) after the announcement of the rise in temperatures in the country.
The recommendations apply to all citizens, especially the most vulnerable categories – elderly over 60 years, children, pregnant women, chronically ill, overweight, those with mental disorders and citizens who are subjected to specific therapies.
IPH warns that the risk of health complications is highest in those who work or stay outdoors during the hottest parts of the day.
-If you have to be out, rest often in the shade and avoid direct sun exposure, drink enough fluids -water above all -and don’t wait for thirst, never leave people or animals in parked vehicles, even for a short time, shower with lukewarm water, or put in cold compresses, Institute.
It also warns that if a person shows signs of heat stroke – warm and dry skin, abdominal pain or loss of consciousness, urgent medical attention should be called to the numbers 194 or 112.
