Investment from pandemic carried on the water of Saturday: « Total Loss »

The production line of sanitary protection masks inaugurated in pandemic, in April 2020, at the Special Product Plant (UPS) in Dragomirești, Dâmbovița county, is in conservation at the headquarters of the plant, and the investment is characterized by the management of the unit as ‘total loss’.

‘I have a few words to tell you, vis-à-vis that production line, it was at that time, to ensure, you know too well, the need for national masks, at this time. It is still in the process, it is not completed, we are waiting … it is in conservation, it is here, it is sealed. The investment, total loss’, said on Tuesday, the director of UPS Dragomirești, Constantin Tocan, asked by journalists, in the context of a working visit to the plant made by the Minister of Economy, Digitization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Bogdan-Gruia Ivan.

The production line was purchased from China, and at the time of the inauguration it was announced that it will produce FFP 3 masks and surgical masks, the daily production capacity being 70,000 – 75,000 FFP 3 masks and between 300,000 – 350,000 surgical masks.

The production line was inaugurated in 2020 by the prime minister at that time Ludovic Orban, accompanied by the Minister of Economy, Virgil Popescu, and the Minister of Defense, Nicolae Ciuca.
