Four days after the opening of the Lushnja election campaign, a 38 -year -old man was arrested for corruption in the election after offering a citizen to vote for a political party in the May 11 elections. The Director of Public Order in the State Police, Agron Çeli, admits that there are other cases of denunciations that are being worked on to hit any illegality.
« According to the Criminal Code, for electoral crimes we are implementing daily with all state police structures, in cooperation with the SPAK structures and district prosecutors. There have been cases, for all cases we have received, the structures have been notified and any illegality that has been identified on the ground has been struck, » He told A2 CNN Agron Çeli, Director of Public Order.
Anyone who commits corruption in the elections, according to the Criminal Code, risks imprisonment of 1 to 5 years. The same punishment is if a citizen is caught photographing the vote. No citizen if evidenced will remain unpunished by the special structures involved in investigating these electoral crimes, » He said.
