Investigation after an accident in a root bottom. 10 injured people
The root gorge Dół, which is one of the biggest tourist attractions of Kazimierz Dolny, was closed until further notice. As announced by the mayor of the commune Artur Pomianowski, a thorough dendrological expertise will be carried out at that time. The gorge manager is the Municipal Municipal Plant in Kazimierz Dolny.
A dangerous incident during a school trip
The incident occurred on June 5 in the picturesque root gorge Dół – one of the most recognizable points of Kazimierz Dolny. It was there that, during the group’s stay, over 40 children aged around 11-12 years from one of Warsaw’s schools, a tree bough broke down and fell on the participants of the trip.
As a result of an accident, ten people – including nine students – were hospitalized. Seven of them left medical facilities after first aid. The rest of the group was transported to the school in Kazimierz Dolny, where they were provided, among others psychological support.
Investigation into an accident in Kazimierz Dolny
In connection with the accident, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Puławy took actions to clarify the circumstances of the event. Information about the initiation of the investigation was provided on Wednesday, June 11, the Polish Press Agency, citing a spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin, Agnieszka Kępka.
The proceedings are conducted towards the average and slight damage to health. Investigators plan to question the participants of the trip, as well as collect documentation regarding the management of the root gorge.
– We plan to cause the opinion of an expert dendrologist who will assess the condition and protection of the tree from which the bough broke down. You will also need the opinion of an expert forensic medicine about injured injuries – said Agnieszka Kępka.
