The cycle includes 12 films from the 1960s and 70s of which 4 were restored, and is implemented in cooperation with the Kinoteka from Bologna.

Dunja Kusturica’s curator points out that they are classics of Egyptian, Algerian and Senegal film, as well as filmmakers from Cameroon and Angola, in which are the complex problems of their hopes, disappointment, the search for identity, women’s role in revolution and family.

Namely, in the time of the liberation wars and decolonization, the African cinematography finds its authentic expression in the expensive of existing political structures, facing the colonial past and search for freedom, and with the aim of improving human subine and awakening of national consciousness, Dunja Kusturica evaluates.
