International Festival Time to Dance This year’s family, lifestyle and dance / day

The festival will give an insight into the current trends in contemporary dance, with a particular focus on the family as the basic element of creativity. The program will include a vivid selection of local and international artists, atmospheric jams, as well as educational events – masterclasses and conversations with artists.

This year’s festival Time to dance Highlights the creative interaction between generations and the ties of strong family as the basis of artistic expression. This deep and multifaceted theme gives the festival a special emotional resonance and social importance. According to the director of the festival, choreographer Olga Zhitluhina: « In the relationship, both synchronousness and harmony, tension and contrasts inspire art creation and guide its development. »

Among the festival guests this year will be Jukio Suzuki and dance company Kingyi (Japan), Anne Katrine & Liva Hanne Haugen (Norway), Kenneth Flax and Kuli Rosna (Norway/Estonia), Zhigan Krajnchan and Kristina Pulova (Slovenia/Czech Republic) and recognizable families of Latvian dance artists – wonder, bronchi, lipors and others.

From local choreographers’ performances to the festival recognized in Europe Time to dance For 27 years, there has been an important engine for contemporary dance development in Latvia. It has become an important platform for international cooperation and an inspirational environment for new talents.

Festival tickets will be available in May. The program includes free activities and dance master classes for parents with children.
