Insulted the girl, humiliated, so he raped. To jail for six months if it meets these terms

The young man was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for raping young adults in Zagreb for rape of younger adults. He was imposed a partial suspended sentence that he had to spend six months in prison, while he would spend the rest of two years at large if he did not commit a new criminal offense within five years.

In addition, a special obligation was imposed on him, according to which the victim must pay a part of the awarded property and legal request in the amount of 15,000 euros within 15 days of the judgment, and a compulsory psychosocial treatment that can last up to two years of executing the verdict.

If he does not pay the victim the amount awarded and does not adhere to the psychosocial treatment, the court may revoke him the condition and send him to prison. It must also pay the costs of the procedure in the amount of a total of EUR 5197 for combined psychological-psychiatric expertise and telecommunication expertise and pay the costs of the legal representative of the damaged.

According to the indictment, a young man, then at the age of 19, at the end of April 2023 in the evening in a house in the Zagreb area for an hour and a half, insulted, belittled and humiliated the victim.

Immediately upon arrival, he began to call her various derogatory words, which she cried to and asked to let her go home. He continued to make fun of her and at one point took a plastic gun for which the victim was convinced was real.

« I’ll shoot you, » he pointed that gun at her head and forced her to oral sex.

« Come quickly for me, they have a gun, » she managed to send a message to her father, who came and saved her.

The party’s verdict is entitled to appeal.
