BRATISLAVA. Slovak National Party (CIS) will propose to the coalition council cancel the transaction Taxes. If it fails, it will insist on its adjustments. TASR informed about this on Saturday by the director of the office of the chairman of the CIS Zuzana Škopcová.

The CIS thinks that the tax is not justified and must be canceled as of 1 July, but no later than 1 January 2026.

« It is clear from the first days that this tax is a disaster for small and medium -sized entrepreneurs, » the party said. According to them, it is unimaginable to use further regardless of the state of public finances. As the CIS claims, the tax is « insolent » and inefficient and has nothing to do in the Slovak tax system.

According to the CIS, it is also high time for the Finance Ministry to present a tax reform. « The system setting that reflects the fair principle of taxation, namely lower taxes for fewer earners and higher taxes for more earning, » she said.

The CIS said that if it were more successful in the future parliamentary elections, the cancellation of this transaction tax would be a condition for the CIS participation in any coalition. « The state has a sufficient number of tools to ensure its functioning regardless of the introduction of » insolent « taxes such as the transactional tax, » she said.

From Tuesday, April 1, legal entities and natural persons – entrepreneurs started to pay a new tax on financial transactions in Slovakia. The measure is part of the consolidation package to reduce the public finance deficit approved by Parliament last year.
