Insider Heritage on Nasdaq- Four is charged with serious crimes

According to the indictment, the total profits amount to approximately SEK 4.4 million. The investigation has been able to show that the protagonist « to some extent » has received compensation for his tips, according to Pontus Hamilton, preliminary investigator and state prosecutor at the Swedish Crime Authority.

Serious insider crimes can give up to six years in prison, and according to Pontus Hamilton, the prison value of the prison level for « several » of the accused persons is, if they were convicted of what they are charged with.

The prosecution concerns trading in shares in a company in 2019 and in four companies from autumn 2021 to spring 2022. The main character in the prosecution was employed at the Department of Market Surveillance Department at Nasdaq Stockholm Stock Exchange. According to the indictment, shortly before the stock trading has been given insider information on the upcoming bid for the companies in question, and then passed on their knowledge to the related persons who in turn bought shares.

Pontus Hamilton notes that it is serious that a prosecution is brought against a person who has this order of trust – and whose work has been to find this particular type of crime.

– This accused person knows how such crimes are investigated and what you are looking at. It also means that you can of course protect yourself in different ways or take the dimensions and steps that may be needed to avoid detection.

All defendants deny crime.
