Inscop survey. Over 45% of Romanians see choices organized incorrectly
According to an Inscop Research survey, 45.7% of Romanians believe that this year’s presidential elections were organized incorrectly.
The survey reveals a small difference between those who believe in the correctness of the presidential elections of 2025, 50.4%, and those who do not believe.
Remus Stefureac, director of Inscop Research, believes that « these differences reflect the structure of the electoral basins of the two candidates ».
I think that this year’s presidential elections were organized rather in significantly higher proportions than the average of 50.4% in particular:
- PNL (90%) and USR (89%) voters,
- people with higher education (75%),
- people over 60 years of age (59%),
- Residents of Bucharest (66%) and Urban Mare (60%)
I think the elections were organized rather incorrectly in higher proportions than the average (45.7%) in particular:
- Gold voters (89%),
- people aged 30-44 (58%),
- People with primary education (71%),
- Rural inhabitants (58%),
- TIK-Tok users (58%).
Stefureac points out that this indicates the maintenance of a strong polarization in our society.
He speaks of a « harmful impact of the wave of misinformation meant to decredibility of democracy in Romania » and shows that it would need « serious efforts to recredit the democratic regime throughout the society ».
The survey was conducted between 26-30 May 2025, the data being collected by the CATI method (telephone interviews). The volume of the simple, stratified sample, was 1150 people, representative on the significant socio-demographic categories (sex, age, occupation) for the uninstitutionalized population of Romania, aged 18 years and over.
The maximum admitted error of the data is ± 2.9%, to a degree of 95%.
