Ink -colored river. The authorities alert after chemical contamination
An unusual incident occurred on Tuesday, May 13. After hitting the tanker into the pole, the blue dye spilled, which flowed into the sewage and got into the local stream. The colored liquid then went to the river – the water became intense blue, and some animals stained. Local authorities initiated an investigation and analyze the effects of pollution for the ecosystem.
The tank dye went to the river. Animals colored blue
The accident took place in the Jardim Das Tulipas district. As reported in the official announcement of the city of Jundiaí, a tanker transporting a blue dye solution hit a pole, which caused the tank unseal. Chemicals spilled out into the street, and some of them flowed into the storm sewage systemwhich leads directly to the stream flowing through the nearby park.
However, pollution did not stop on the stream. The dye reached the Jundiaí river, significantly changing its appearance. Residents and local media published recordings and photos, which show intensively blue water as well as birds and fish colored blue.
Dead fish and colored ducks
The most striking effects were seen among water animals. The pictures were immortalized Ducks with blue feathers and dead fishwhich took unnatural color. The city authorities emphasize that the influence of the substance on the local fauna was visible almost immediately after the leak.
According to the information provided by Colonel Joao Gymenez from local civil defense, an organic chemical leakage was leaked based on acetic acid. « The substance is a dye used in polystyrene boxes and egg extinctors, » explained Gymenez.
Although this is not a relationship that is particularly dangerous, its environmental impact may be significant, especially in the case of direct contact with aquatic organisms.
Water and environmental analysis is underway
On Thursday, May 15, the city authorities announced that detailed water tests along the entire Jundiaí river were carried out. The goal is to determine the scale of pollution and potential long -term effects on the ecosystem.
Specialists examine not only the presence of chemicals, but also their impact on water quality, flora and fauna, and any risk for human health.
Local media alert that although this time there was a leakage of a relatively harmless substance, this incident should be treated as a warning signal. The sensitivity of natural ecosystems to even slight contamination forces the need for better control of chemical transport.
The color of the water is to return to normal
Experts predict that the dye will be diluted and washed over time, and The color of the water will return to the natural state. However, this process may take several weeks, depending on the intensity of the flow and further cleansing activities.
The city authorities ensure that the situation is monitored and residents informed about progress on an ongoing basis.
