Initial field research for the fast track in September
Initial geological activities and field research on the construction of the Corridor 10 in September 10, and the mechanization late in the fall, announces MoF Infrastructure Director Sinisa Ivanovski.
– The most ideal part to build is up to the existing line, there will certainly need expropriation, but we will try to keep it to a minimum and no problems. On the other hand, what will be built next to the existing track is already a traverse path and the problems on the ground are already known. We will try to reduce the existing 235 kilometers to 200 and under 200 kilometers, wherever the curves will be possible – said Ivanovski, at a Sitel TV night.
He announced that 30 percent of British components would be built, which, he said, responds because they are in second place in the world.
« I am sure that the Prime Minister will have meetings with all the chambers of commerce, cooperation will be offered and there will be room for the inclusion of every Macedonian company, » Ivanovski said.
The procurement of fast trains, he said, is the responsibility of MZ Transport.
– Certainly we have to have new trains for five years from now, not only that, we will not be able to join the European Union by existing trains. Trains and locomotives that meet the standards must be purchased and it is in the government’s plan, to purchase new trains – said Ivanovski.
According to him, the reconstruction and construction of the new railway will be completed in five years, and both will be used for both passenger and freight traffic.
« Annual income of 100 to 120 million euros is expected in freight traffic only because ports in Athens, Thessaloniki, Alexandropulos and Kavala are constantly upward, the fastest road is through Macedonia, we need to use our position, » Ivanovski said.
The number of fast train stops will be determined by the project, but as he said, as little as possible, but at the same time there will be connectors.
– Skopje will certainly connect with Petrovec Airport, which is a novelty, certainly in Veles and Gevgelija, and in the second phase if we fail in the first, we will release Kocani to Stip to Veles, so that there are as if people reach the central stations to access international traffic.
The goal is, to have a quick and efficient transport, so the Ministry of Transport in cooperation with neighboring countries will do everything possible to have only one stop.
Regarding the construction of the Corridor 8 railway to Bulgaria, he reiterated that despite the many demands he sent to the Bulgarian Railway leadership to meet to define the test solution, there is no positive response. In the last letter they sent him, he told him that he was told in the future that communication would be through the embassy and the ministries of foreign and transport.
– I have come to an uncomfortable, even if I am writing an invitation at all, if we want to work, to work. At the end of the day we and realistically work. We finished the first phase of Kumanovo – Beljakovce with Austrian « Strabag », in the second phase of Beljakovce to Kriva Palanka with Turkish « Julermak » wars, but we work again, slowly but move forward. And their « domestic » is only 500 meters from Gjueshevo to a non -border, and from Sofia to Gjujevo their track is in a terribly poor condition – said Ivanovski, adding that there were no projects from the Bulgarian side.
After overcoming the problem with Bulgaria, he announced that the focus would be on the railway to Albania that we use a joint EU grant for a technical solution, and as he said, we have correct communication.
