INEM authorized to hire another 200 prehospital emergency technicians

The government authorized the contraction of another 200 pre-hospital emergency technicians (TEPH) for the National Institute of Emergency Medical (INEM). The number of hires made at the beginning of the year duplicate and the opening of the new contest is expected to take place in mid -June.

« The 200 new TEPH to hire will reinforce the care and screening of emergency medical situations in the urgent patient orientation centers (CODO) and ensure the operability of various prehospital emergency means of the institute, » reads in a statement released Thursday.

INEM clarifies that TEPH are « fundamental health professionals from the country’s emergency medical network because they ensure the first response to prehospital medical emergency situations. »

« Its action can be decisive for the survival of people victims of sudden illness or trauma, » the note, cited by the Lusa agency.

With the entry of these professionals, INEM will increase its TEPH tables from about 1,100 to 1,300.

Last December an agreement was reached with the Union of Pre-Hospital Emergency Technicians (Steph) that allowed all technicians a salary increase of 256 years from January.

The dissatisfaction of prehospital emergency technicians had culminated in an extra time strike that began on October 30 and which on November 4 coincided with the civil service strike and forced several means of relief to stop, causing hours of hours of calling the calls to INEM.
