India inaugurated the highest railway bridge with a single arch (video)
The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has inaugurated the highest railway bridge with a single arch in the world, located in Kashmir administered by India, writes BBC.
The term « bridge with a single arch » usually refers to a bridge with a single continuous arch, which extends between two pillars, explains the BBC.
The bridge will connect the region of the valley in Kashmir with the rest of the country by train, for the first time.
The emblematic infrastructure project, built over the Chenab river, is 35 m higher than the Eiffel Tower, and the Indian railways needed more than 20 years to build it.
It is part of a 272 km railway line, functional under any weather conditions, which will pass through Jammu, eventually going to the Kashmirul Valley.
An engineering marvel that’s more than just steel and concrete – it a symbol of resilience, innovation, and the unwering spirit of Jammu & Kashmir and New India!
