India attacks Pakistan with rockets on nine goals

India has fired several rockets on Tuesday evening in the neighboring country Pakistan. International press agencies report this. The Indian government announces that it has fired rockets on nine goals under the name ‘Operation Sindoor’. According to India, military facilities were not the target, the country speaks of a « precision attack on terrorists ».

The Pakistani army has announced that it will answer the attack. A week ago, a Pakistani minister stated that he received ‘credible information’ about an impending attack by India on Pakistani territory.

The attacks will follow on an attack on April 22 in the Indian part of the Kashmir region along the border with Pakistan. 26 tourists were killed. India has accused Pakistan of being behind the attack, but Islamabad denies the accusation.

The tensions between neighboring countries have since risen high. Both countries have deported diplomats and citizens of each other, closed their borders and closed the airspace. India has also suspended an important water distribution treaty with Pakistan.
