India attacked Pakistan: ‘A general turmoil arose, we flee to houses, women and children wept’

On Wednesday, India attacked the air goals in Pakistan and Pakistani Kashmir, and Islamabad replied with a claim that he had overthrew five Indian fighter jets, in the most severe armed conflict between the two nucleally armed countries in the last twenty years.

The Indian side announced that nine goals associated with « terrorist infrastructure » were affected, that is, an attack of Islamist militants on Hindu tourists in Indian Kashmir last month, killing 26 people.

The residents of the Indian part of Kashmir say they were awakened by explosions.

– We are tense, anxious and constantly watch television. It woke me up around 2:30 in the morning, the sounds of explosions and shooting across the border were heard. That lasted until 5:30 – says the witness.

– We spent a sleepless night for a violent shelling. The children cried, women too, it was a desperate situation. The shelling lasted all night. Everyone is scared, there are damage in the area. People are in awe and plan to leave. There are 15 of us in the family and we all squeezed ourselves in two rooms – says the second witness.

In other parts of Indian Kashmir, people say they support attacks.

– This is a very good move and we waited for India to reply to Pakistan worthy. India did it in a praiseworthy way and we are happy about it – they say.
