India and Pakistan agreed to immediately and complete termination of fire

US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that India and Pakistan had agreed to « complete and immediate ceasefire » after the fourth day of shocks and counterattacks against their military sites and facilities.

All imposed Indian commercial and diplomatic and sanctions, as well as the suspended water supply from India to Pakistan, remain in force.

The Pakistani Foreign Minister said the two countries had agreed to end the fire « with an immediate effect » and the Indian Foreign Ministry – that it will start at 5:00 pm (2:30 pm GMT).

The sudden message came on a day when fears have increased that the nuclear arsenals of the countries may come into action, as the Pakistani army said that a senior military and civilian authorities that monitors the nuclear weapons would be assembled.

But later Pakistan’s Defense Minister said such a meeting was not planned.

At the same time, representatives of both countries have shown a willingness to take a step back after the replica exchange during the day, with the total number of civilians among the civilian population on both sides increasing to 66.

The Indian Foreign Ministry said that the head of the Pakistani military operations called his Indian counterpart on Saturday afternoon and had been agreed to stop any firing. The two leaders will talk again on May 12, the ministry added.
