Increase of Russian websites that are undergoing credible media
Russian sites that are passed through news, but disseminate misinformation about Ukraine are increasing. Newsguard.om study released on Tuesday says that objective is to undermine public confidence in the true media.
According to the study by Newsguard, quoted by the AFP agency, 1,265 sites were identified as a neutral media, but in reality, they are supported by party organizations or governments such as Russia or Iran.
« Those involved in misinformation exploit the credibility of the confidence media to maximize the hypotheses that false information is widely disclosed, » the Newsguard organization warned.
The diffusion of internet lies contributes to the distrust of the general public regarding the true media.
Propaganda sites often use real authors, but artificial intelligence (IA) tools allow them to produce content that is hard to distinguish from real information, much faster and cheaper, reveals AFP.
Other of the techniques used is to assign false information to the actual media, exploring the credibility of these organizations, in order to increase the hypotheses that the false narrative spreads widely and with apparent credibility.
Newsguard is an organization that specializes in the fight against misinformation that explores news and the way misinformation spreads ‘online’, with the aim of discovering the forces that shape false narratives disseminated on the internet.
