In Zaporozhye, a private university rector was exposed, which together with their subordinates sold about 3000 fictitious certificates of graduate students for men of conscript age.
Fake documents were offered to the military for delay from mobilization, reported in The Prosecutor General’s Office and National Police Main Directorate Zaporizhzhya region.
According to law enforcement officers, men were fictitiously enrolled in graduate studies. The cost of such an introduction was almost 20 thousand hryvnias.
For additional almost 50 thousand hryvnias, the group participants organized a turnkey deferral – from registration of documents to the adoption of the relevant decision. At first, the educators introduced false information to the Unified State Electronic Base on Education (EDEBO), forged the date of entry, issued fictitious training certificates and subsequently formulate documents for the CCC and JV.
In total, from the end of 2023 to the middle of 2024, the university workers sold almost 3,000 postgraduate certificates, receiving more than UAH 17 million.
Pseudo -aspirant money was paid at the university’s account. Subsequently, the earned illegally removed from there and distributed among the participants of the scheme, added police.
Educators are threatened with up to 12 years in prison with property. In addition, they were awarded a request for a measure of restraint, and they were sent to court with a petition for the arrest of their property.
Depending on the employees of the university, suspected:
- creation, management of a criminal community or criminal organization, as well as participation in it – part 1, 2 of Article 255 of the Criminal Code;
- bribery of a legal entity of private law, regardless of organizational and legal form-part 4, Articles 368-3;
- unauthorized actions with information that is processed in electronic computers (computers)-part 3 of Article 362;
- evasion of conscription during mobilization – Article 336;
- Obstruction of the legitimate activity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations-part 1 of Article 114-1.
