In Transcarpathia, the couple set fire to a 10-year-old boy

In Transcarpathia, the court issued a sentence to cohabitants who put a 10-year-old boy on a chain and caused him to fire. The baby received 80% of the body and died in the hospital.
The man and mother of the boy were sentenced to nine years of imprisonment, according to sentence Mukachevo City Court.
Law enforcement officers found that on May 13, 2024 a couple of cohabitants in a state of alcohol intoxication were in the courtyard of their home.
According to the woman, she began to boil her son for allegedly without the knowledge of her parents and stole money. The mother claims that « for the purpose of raising » the son was put on a chain for « 10-15 minutes ».
Later, the mother poured a fuel and dimensional mixture on the boy. In court, the woman stated that she did not know what fluid she used.
After that, the man was burning the baby’s clothes. The boy received burns of face, neck, hips, arms, back and buttocks. The expert opinion showed that 80% of the baby’s body surface was damaged.
The adults did not immediately seek help from doctors, but later the boy found himself in the intensive care unit of the regional hospital, where he died later.
The boy’s mother pleaded partially.
The man and the woman were found guilty of committing criminal offenses provided for:
- Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code – intentional grievous bodily harmlife -threatening at the time of causing a group of persons, a manner that has the character of a special torment, which caused death victim;
- Part 1 of Article 135 – the head of leaving without help a person who is in a life -threatening condition.
The court imprisoned them in the form of imprisonment for nine years.
The accused also has another minor child who was taken away after the incident.
