Boolter was discovered thanks to the observation chamber on the trail, after which the police surrounded him in the forest – he surrendered without resistance.
The detainee is accused of a deadly shooting on Minnesota deputy Melisie Grortman and her husband, as well as in a separate attack on Senator John Hoffman and his wife, who were injured.
Police said it was a large -scale search operation in the history of state, which ended 43 hours after the first shooting. During the search of the car of the suspect, law enforcement officers found a list of potential goals-among them were dozens of democratic politicians, including Governor Tim Volz, Senator Tina Smith, Congressumen Ilhan Omar and the state attorney of Kit Ellison.
The investigation believes that the suspect issued himself as a police officer and arrived at the victim’s home in a car with a flashing car, similar to a police car.

According to a criminal statement obtained by Minnesota Star Tribune, the police found « at least three AK-47 machines » and a gun in a car left near the house of the killed Congress from Minnesota Melissa Gortman.
57-year-old Boelter has been charged in two cases of a second-degree premeditated murder and two cases of a second degree assassination attempt.
According to prison protocols, Boolter must appear in court on Monday at 1:30 pm local time.
