In the summer Riga HPP reservoir is planned water level reduction / day
The water level is planned to be lowered and retained between the marks of 16.25 to 16.45 meters in the Latvian normal height in the LAS 2000.5 system, which is up to 1.90 meters below the normal water level in the Riga HPP water reservoir and almost a meter below the minimum water level during the daily operation of the HPP.
Latvenergo will implement two projects during this period – restoring the surface of the Riga HPP water polls on the top of the Bjef and the top of the Riga Hydroelectric Power Bjef wall under the surface of the pedestrian sidewalk. During the water level lowering, the restoration works of damaged reinforced concrete structures – damaged concrete re -reinforcement, cleaning of reinforcement, assembly of additional reinforcement, anti -corrosion treatment and surface restoration will be carried out.
At the same time, the SIA « Ministry of Agriculture Real Estate » (ZMNI) would use the water level reduction period to restore its objects. ZMNI will restore Riga HPP engineering defense structures to protect Ogre county and city against flood risks, as well as prevent the Daugavpils highway (A6) from leaching.
The renovation and inspection of the hydrotechnical structures can be performed more from the highest quality between spring floods and autumn rains, when the Daugava and the water level is the lowest. Latvenergo has taken into account the recommendations of municipalities on the preferred month in the summer, when the renovation of the hydrotechnical structures of the Riga HPP, and the chosen is the most appropriate period for all parties.
During the specified water level lowering period, the days required to lower the level to the intended mark and raise the level to the normal level of operating mode.
Latvenergo invites the municipalities in the Riga HPP to inform residents and companies about lowering the water level in the influence of the Riga HPP.
The Daugava HPP is a structure of strategic importance.
Latvenergo’s activities related to lowering and retaining the level of water reservoirs are subject to the permission of the State Environmental Service’s Lielriga Regional Environmental Board.
There is no planned long -term water level in the Pļaviņas HPP and Kegums HPP water reservoirs.
